The IPIP Quality Improvement Team
Participants in IPIP receive the expert consultation and support of the National IPIP QI Team:
Sheldon Horowitz, MD: Principal Investigator:
Provides oversight for IPIP in each state and for the work of the Quality Improvement Team. Chairs the National Steering Committee and leads alignment efforts with specialty boards and societies as well as national agencies and initiatives.
Jan Simon, RN, MHSA: Program Director
Directs all operational aspects of IPIP, including contracting, internal and external communications, management of risks, resolution of issues, grant development and management, state recruitment and orientation to IPIP policy and procedures. Functions as the central point of communication for internal and external stakeholders.
Peter Margolis, MD, PhD: QI Director
Oversees the IPIP QI effort and provides expert consultation on design and evaluation of the IPIP program.
Darren DeWalt, MD, MPH: Evaluation
Provides expertise in design, measures and specifications, clinical relevance and evaluation.
IPIP initial design and periodic updates
- Updates to IPIP measures and specifications
- Education and support in data collection
- Aggregation of IPIP data and publication of monthly summary report
- Consultation regarding the creation of Learning Collaboratives
- Quality Improvement Coach training and support
- Support for implementation of IPIP activities
- Expertise on spread of best practices and collaborative learning
